OontZ Ultra Portable Bluetooth 5.4 Speaker | 14W Sound, 20-Hr Battery

I have been looking for a rugged bluetooth speaker to use in the garage, as desk speakers, when camping, or on the go. Having looked at many models in various different price ranges, I decided to give this one a try. For the price you cannot beat the size, sound quality and build. Granted I havent had it long, but will update my review if any of my opinions change.While I am not an audiophile, I do listen to music a lot and appreciate a good sound. Since I play bass I tend to make things a bit bass heavy to pull out those bass lines. Most speakers fall short on bass in many different speaker style areas. This little speaker was quite amazing with a full range of tonal sounds and I can easily hear those bass lines!Right out of the box, the unit feels like a quality built with some heft to it. The bluetooth paired quickly and had zero issues. Turned on my music and it came through loud and clear with great tones! The volume seems to be great as well as I had my phone turned up too loud when the music started and was very happy with the volume range.I'll give this a little time to see if I continue to love it and if so, I will definitely purchase a second unit for that stereo experience!

I also have a Bose Bluetooth speaker which I used to think was the best on the market, but the Oontz outperforms it in various ways and is a out 1/3 the cost! The strong points of the Oontz are clarity, musical detail and a very open and natural sound. It does a great job of reproducing instrumentals realistically as well as vocals in all ranges. There's not a huge amount of bass, but enough of it to provide a nice bottom and overall rich sound. I have to say that because of the low price, I wasn't expecting much, but I was in for a great surprise! And by the way, the battery seems to last forever because I've been playing it for hours almost every day and it's still at 30% power. The Oontz is proof that you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a top quality bluetooth speaker. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean!

I LOVE this thing. When I wrote to Cambridge Soundworks about my Oontz Angle Plus beginning to (literally) fall to pieces, they offered me a discount on their new model. Well, I can't help but be impressed! The sheer power of this thing is incredible! And a big thank-you to Cambridge University for such amazing customer service! I love you guys! <3... A little... TOO incredible... It caused my solid wood counter-tops to vibrate and buzz, because the bass speaker is on the bottom. Turning down the bass in my equalization settings helped, but I didn't think I should have to do that, as most of my music isn't bass-heavy to begin with.So then I tried standing it on its end...Well, it decided it had other places to be.Literally.Utilizing the bass pad that came with my Oontz Plus solved all of these issues entirely, so I would like to recommend Cambridge Soundworks also include the bass pad with this speaker.I've included camera footage of the speaker playing at full volume... AND going for a stroll. Please, enjoy! <3I can't recommend this speaker enough! I deducted one star, however, for the issues I encountered, as mentioned. As much as I adore this tiny little powerhouse, I can't lie: It's not perfect.UPDATE: So while I initially purchased this strictly to use for music, I do like to watch videos on my phone or tablet sometimes, and neither of these devices are exactly known for amazing sound power when watching movies. I was perturbed to say the least when I recognized the terrible audio lag the device has. Sound is heard more than a full second after the characters move their lips, a problem which my old Oontz Plus (RIP) never had. I suppose I could remedy this issue by using an AUX cable, since unlike my old phone my new phone has a working sound jack, but I can't do that and keep the device's water resistance in tact, and my favorite place to watch youtube videos on my phone is in the bathtub. ^_^ Since the sound delay is far, far worse than expected (my old Oontz speaker had ZERO sound delay) I'm docking another star for it.ANOTHER UPDATE: A big thanks to brdavis9 for giving me the link to the do-it-yourself online firmware update for this device, and a big thanks to Cambridge Soundworks for making it available to do ourselves. After the update, the speaker's sound delay is down to about a millisecond. Only really noticeable if you're looking for it specifically or a person in video is talking insanely fast. And the speaker earns back the lost star for sound delay. <3 The tutorial online for setting up the firmware update explains the most bare minimum detail so that even tech-incompetent people like my dad could use it (He still can't tell the difference between a tab and a window.) but those of us who are tech savvy can just wing it for the most part.For everyone else, here is the link provided to me! 4 years in and these speakers still sound d great. Easy Bluetooth connection and here you go, that your favorite tunes out to the pool or in other rooms. I connect to my Alexa, tell her what to play and turn on the speakers. 15 seconds later, the left speaker is connected to Alexa and the right speaker is connected to the left and stereo phonic sound anywhere around the house. I am going to try and connect these to my vehicle radio and have my tunes even when out and about. Sound quality is excellent, base and treble sound great its almost like I'm there live in concert.
